Participants sign up as individuals, and new teams are formatted after every game, allowing for participants to play with and meet new people each week. Don’t worry if you can’t make it to every session. Participants have the option to register for the entire summer session or simply drop in on the nights that best fit their schedule and pay per visit.     239101 - Learn to Play Pickleball

    Pickleball continues to be one of the fastest growing sports in America. Come learn how to play the nationwide craze that’s impacting the Stateline area. Pickleball is a sport that can be played by people of various athletic abilities. Pickleball is a modified “tennis-like” game played on a badminton size court using a heavier style Whiffle ball. This is a chance for you to learn how the game is played. Don’t have a paddle? No worries. Wooden paddles are available free of charge or players may rent a higher-end paddle for $3 on the day of.     149101 - NFL Cheer & Dance- Rockford

    Our NFL Cheer cheerleaders only root for NFL Flag Football of Rockford! The purpose of NFL Cheer is to develop, organize, and promote cheerleading activities for our youth participants. There are no tryouts; everyone is on the sidelines cheering, but squads differ in ability levels. NFL CHEERLEADERS WILL RECEIVE A COMPLETE UNIFORM, POMS, SHOES, BOW, AND SOCKS! Each NFL Cheer squad will be assigned a cheerleading mentor. The cheer mentor's primary job is to teach the cheer routines as the head coach supervises. Participants will cheer at Saturday games according to their ages. Ages 5-8: 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. Ages 9-11: 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. All games will be at Southwest Community Park (2004 Ogilby Rd, 61102).

    NOTE: Practices will begin May 21 and will be held at UW Health Sports Factory throughout May, Monday and Wednesday evenings, 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. After that, practices will be held at Bloom School June through July.

    There will be a mandatory Parent Meeting on Monday May 21, 2018 at UW Health Sports Factory (305 S Madison St. Rockford IL) 6:00pm-7:00pm.

Our ACES program and our Summer Leagues have been wildly successful over the past few years, and now we bring you our ACES Summer League. There are three co-ed age divisions: 9-10, 11-12, and 13-14. Individual registration is accepted. You may also sign up with a friend or a group of friends and we will do our best to make sure everyone is on the same team! Teams are maxed out at 8 players per team. ACES Summer League will include a 1-hour practice followed by 1 volleyball match each week, excluding the first week. Week #1, all players will participate a 2-hour camp focusing on the basic skills of volleyball. This program is designed to help players begin to master the entry level to intermediate skills of the sports of volleyball. The focus will be on teamwork, skill development, and most importantly, FUN!

    The Jr Leader Training Camp is where we find our upcoming recreation leaders for the Time 2 Play Neighborhood Playgrounds Program, Washington Park Community Center, Lewis Lemon Community Center, Summer Blast Day, and Nature Quest Camps. Teens will learn leadership skills in the area of how to lead sports games, recreational games, basic group planning, and communication skills. Campers will get the chance to experience first-hand what it’s like to work as a leader with the Rockford Park District. Teens will be placed at sites based on number of years in camp; performance in camp and location needs.

    This four-day camp is geared toward the more advanced volleyball player. The camp is open to both boy and girl athletes. Though participants will work on passing, setting, hitting and advanced offensive and defensive systems they will need to SELECT an area of focus at time of registration (either D.S./Libero, Setter, Hitter). Rockford University Head Coach Jennifer Saylor has put together a camp that is designed to challenge athletes while teaching them the more advanced systems of the sport.
