    Level Four gives riders the opportunity to enhance their horsemanship skills at a trot. Students will trot as a group on the rail, practice simple patterns at a trot, and learn skills to prepare to lope.

    • Improve transitions between gaits• Prepare for loping
    •Instruction in more advanced skills such as loping/cantering is offered in private/semi-private lessons only.

    155101 - My Little Pony

    Enjoy quality time with one of our sweet ponies. For 45 minutes, participants are riding and grooming while two parents or side walkers (must be age 13 or older) are by their side. Children ride in the arena with assistance from one side walker, while the other leads the pony. If the group is able, one lesson is a trail ride. Class limited to six participants. Two side walkers are required. We can provide them, if needed, for an extra fee paid in advance.
    •If needed: $17 extra for 1 side walker, and $34 extra for 2 side walkers.

    • How to approach, lead, mount, walk, stop, steer, maintain spacing, and dismount
    • Proper body position
    • Master skill of leading, walking, stopping, and maintaining spacing using check and release.

    The Therapeutic Recreation team’s social programs provide adults and teens an opportunity to hang out with their friends, and make some new ones! Events take place at Rockford Park District facilities as well as out in our community. Events include seasonal dances, karaoke, game nights (video and board games), movie nights, art & crafts and cooking programs, to name a few. When we “hit the town”, we’ll check out community sporting events, movies, bowling, dining, theatre or visit some of our favorite parks for a picnic and outdoor fun! We are also open to suggestions. So, if you’re looking to get out on the town to be social, give us a call!
